Description

Resistance Sustenance Protection reflects on the political and personal of the pandemic, locally and globally. Subjects include queer issues, mental health, raging about government (in)decisions, daily walks and occasional pleas to the genderqueer deities. It includes essays by Rosie Cooper, Head of Exhibitions at De La Warr Pavilion and by queer feminist cartoonist Kate Charlesworth.

Resistance, sustenance, protection: Rachael’s work is a toolkit to help us in these strange days – and in others to come.
Kate Charlesworth, cartoonist, illustrator and graphic novelist.

Presented in galleries and museums, House’s art can also be found in places where it can get things done: in parks, nightclubs and in the streets.
Rosie Cooper, Head of Exhibitions, De La Warr Pavilion

Thank God for Rachael House! In this bleak year of never-ending lockdowns these honest, brave and beautiful daily thoughts have helped me stay afloat and hopeful.”
Steven Appleby, cartoonist, artist and author of DRAGMAN

Rachael’s comics reflect us, challenge us, motivate us, and instigate us, speaking truth in image and text – all of this while stubbornly maintaining hope for our future.
MK Czerwiec, creator of Taking Turns: Stories from HIV/AIDS Care Unit 371.
