The London Dyke Market is a one day only annual community-led showcase of the UK’s leading dyke artists, writers and creators, curated by Emily Witham and taking place at
Space Station Sixty-Five gallery in South London on Saturday 16th of August 2025, 1pm – 6pm.

Last summer, in June 2024, The London Dyke Market launched its inaugural event in the capital celebrating lesbian creativity, culture and community. A simple concept, birthed out of the frustration with the lack of spaces for dykes to showcase their work, saw an unprecedented and unexpected response of almost 2,000 people excitedly queuing around the block to meet their favourite sapphic artist, writer or creative.

The now infamous line-of-dykes snaked from the entrance of Space Station Sixty-Five, the art gallery hosting the event, and down 5 adjoining South London side streets. Local cafes enroute sold out of oat milk lates, both carabiners and phone numbers were exchanged between queue mates and anticipation grew to enter the first art market in the UK to cater specifically to the sapphics.

After the success of last year’s event, The London Dyke Market returns this August with an even bigger line up and double the venue space, taking over not just SS65 but a neighboring film studio too. Again curated by artist Emily Witham, over 50 individuals will showcase brand new work reflecting on what it means to be a dyke in 2025. Whilst the event is held in an art gallery this isn’t an exhibition, this is a community day where people can purchase the work directly from the maker and put money back into the pockets of the community far away from corporate sponsorships and unethical rainbow-adorned brand partnerships.

In the style of a “sapphic summer fête” there will be a diversity of dyke creatives; fashion designers, sex toy makers, barbers, archivists, activists, poets, artists, chefs, writers, ceramicists, jewelers, photographers, tattooists, and lots and lots of lesbians. Highlights this year include a workshop where you can turn an old handbag into a strap-on harness, handmade silver rings from BBC I Kissed A Girl‘s Amy Spalding and a roller skating Lesbian Renaissance Committee.

(Please note: the use of the word ‘Lesbian’ or ‘Dyke’ are used as trans-inclusive terms)
