Art Review Comic Strip
Featuring in this month’s ArtReview, Maurice Vellekoop has been especially commissioned for the magazines March two-page strip.
The comic, called ‘Rescue’ recalls Maurice’s final break from the Christian Reformed Church he grew up in, after Oscar Wilde and Aubrey Beardsley come to him in a dream and explain life.
With a mixture of advice and fantasy the teenage Maurice is rescued by his queer gods.
The new strip is accompanied by an interview with Paul Gravett, the full conversation can be found on Paul’s website here.
We also have a stock of the magazines at the gallery, so you can take home you own Vellekoop comic for under 6 pounds!
