Encased in a printed, faux-leather slip cover, each page of this scrapbook is perforated, so you can ‘Rip and Hang,’ which the inside cover instructs us to do with an unhappy face. These paintings, collages, poems, and song lyrics carry an anthemic punch, encapsulating a world of pain in three rhyming lines or a pair of knobbly knees. Posted on our fridge and our bedroom wall, these images of private despair, nihilist romance and social dysfunction give iconic form to our own trauma, a classically punk mix of catharsis and transgression.
