“In the mid-1980s I was employed by Malcolm Garrett’s record sleeve design company, Assorted images. Around the late 80s they became my patrons. This meant they still paid my salary, but now it was to allow me to make my own work, including writing and drawing Rockets Passing Overhead for the NME and Small Birds Singing for the Times. Assorted images also published this comic book, Rockets ~ a way of life, in 1988 in an edition of 3000 copies. These are some of the last few remaining copies.”  – Steven Appleby
